About
Ava Power
Ava loves to write and has been doing so for many years, bringing her experience of script and personal writing to Advertising where she now works as a Copywriter. Having studied French, Spanish and Linguistics in UCC, Ava's obsession with words doesn't end with English.
Ava is an actor who has been involved in plays, musicals, short films and music videos. She is also a voice actor and is excited to marry her love of drama with advertising in this way. She believes the crossover of theatre with advertising is invaluable; being able to truly put yourself in someone else's shoes.
Aside from that, Ava loves to take photos, it is one of her favourite things - capturing the little moments of life in beautiful places abroad or right here on home turf. It is fuelled by her keen sense of curiosity about the world.

'4pm Train'
Beside me are a pair
A pair who radiate peace and presence
She reads a book she’s been enjoying
And hands him a pen from her handbag
He fills out a sudoku
And when he finishes he passes it to her to check
Looks about right
“Are you serving?” He asks the train carriage man
“Yes sir”
He orders for them “two teas please”
He slides hers across the table, ladies first.
An interlude from their activities
Glasses closed up, placed upon the book
Two milks, two sugars
Their bags from a busy day in the city lie beneath
He retrieves a pack of Irish crisps from his bag to accompany her refreshments
Pop open the box sandwiches from the station
Everything they do, they do as a pair
She pops a Canderel in through the cup lid
Can’t be too careful about type 2 diabetes
To avoid any spillages he passes her a napkin which she routinely places on her leg
They will share the crisps
No need for a bag each
The view isn’t anything extraordinary
An overcast day
But the lush green landscape emanates a humble beauty
They like their tea the same colour
A 2 minute brew
And a crafty wrap of the tea bag around the cardboard stirrer
His wedding ring is much like the view
Unassuming
Not boastful
But powerful in its own right
A simple strong band of gold that’s there to stay
“They’re lovely” she remarks on the relish and cheddar cheese crisp
Intermittent crunching
Each individual savoured
Their rhythm is remarkably unrushed
A refreshing pace in this impatient world
I wonder about their roots
I wonder how their love affair began
I imagine them in their younger years
I bet she kept him on his toes
Because just like his gold band
She has him wrapped around her fingers
